The Nestlé Purina Petcare-Animal Welfare League Australia partnership ensures AWLA’s rehoming organisations are able to provide thousands of vulnerable dogs and cats with the best possible nutritional care across the nation.
Through this partnership, Nestlé Purina Petcare generously donates pet food and other support to Animal Welfare League of South Australia, Animal Welfare League of Qld, Animal Welfare League NSW, Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania and Saving Animals From Euthanasia.
The high-quality pet food provides dogs and cats with all of their nutritional needs whilst they await adoption from AWLA rehoming centres and foster care networks or are waiting to be reunited with their owners.
AWLA National Executive Office Stuart Gillies said: “The Nestlé Purina Petcare sponsorship has been extremely beneficial for the animals in our care, providing us with the ability to exclusively feed SUPERCOAT and PURINA ONE diets that ensure dogs and cats are eating more robustly and therefore not leaving food in bowls to spoil, are gaining weight more quickly if they have arrived undernourished, and are maintaining their weights more consistently.”
Nestlé Purina Petcare showcases the partnership through promotion of AWLA branding on Purina SUPERCOAT products, regular features on Purina’s social media channels, and PURINA ONE Novempurr campaign to promote cat health awareness.
Nestlé Purina Petcare spokesperson said Nicole Battistessa: “It’s a sad fact that thousands of dogs and cats are abandoned or put up for adoption in Australia every year. Adopting a dog or cat from an AWLA rehoming centre or foster care network can be hugely rewarding and provides deserving pets a second chance at finding a loving home."
“Partnering with Animal Welfare League Australia is just one part of Purina’s broader commitment to ensuring that animals in rehoming centres, as well as homes, receive high-quality nutrition and great care,” Nicole Battistessa said.
