Pregnancy in Dogs

Dogs come ‘into season’ twice a year and if your dog is not desexed, it’s highly likely she’ll be a pregnant dog.

There are some easy ways to tell if your dog is in season or on heat. You’ll first notice when she is about six months old and she’ll stay on heat for two or three weeks, twice a year.

It is a good idea to think about having her desexed, unless of course you are intent on breeding. If so, your dog will have increased nutritional needs during pregnancy.
