Purina partners with Animal Welfare League Australia

Nestlé Purina Petcare is pleased to partner with Animal Welfare League Australia. This  partnership expands on previous support and helps ensure that AWLA affiliated shelters are able to provide lonely and unloved dogs and cats the best nutritional care possible.

The  partnership includes the donation of high quality pet food  provided to all dogs and cats in the care of AWLA affiliated shelters, including dogs and cats awaiting adoption, dogs and cats waiting to be reunited with their owners and animals in foster care.

AWLA Executive Office Anne Boxhall said: “There have been notable benefits since the inception of the Nestlé Purina sponsorship most significantly the ability to exclusively feed Pro Plan diets to the animals in our care. Reports from AWLA affiliated shelters include that dogs and cats are eating more robustly therefore not leaving food in bowls to spoil, animals gaining weight quicker if they have arrived undernourished as well as animals are maintaining their weights more consistently.”

Nestlé Purina Petcare will also showcase the partnership through promotion of AWLA branding on Purina Supercoat products and regular feaures on Purina’s social media channels.

Purina Petcare spokesperson Fran Hernon said: “It’s a sad fact that thousands of dogs and cats are abandoned or put up for adoption in Australia every year. Adopting a dog or cat from an AWLA shelter can be hugely rewarding and gives deserving pets a second chance at finding a loving home.

“Partnering with Animal Welfare League Australia is just one part of Purina’s broader commitment to ensuring that animals in shelters, as well as homes, receive quality nutrition and care,” Fran said.
