Tips for Living Frisky
Create a FRISKIES® Home
Your frolicsome feline needs a stimulating environment to stay in peak mental and physical condition. Places to explore and toys to play with will give them the exercise they need to stay in shape, and help keep their mind energised and alert. Here are some ideas you can use to help your cat get more out of life.
Follow these 5 easy steps
Step 1
Create a home that is entertaining, fun and safe for your cat. Include areas to roam, objects to climb, toys to play with and a room with a view, so they can expand their horizons without roaming from home.
Step 2
Buy or make an adventurous scratching post - with perches to climb, holes to explore and catnap-perfect sleeping lofts. A scratching post will give your cat an outlet for their instinctual scratching behaviour, so they don't need to turn to your furniture and carpets.
Step 3
Provide a variety of toys for your cat to enjoy. Interactive, self-contained toys - like trackballs and door-hung plush toys - will keep them playing even when you're not home.
Step 4
Train your cat to perform such basic behaviours as sitting and coming when you call. The time you spend teaching these tricks will be fun for both of you - and help bring you closer together. Check our Training Tips page for more information.
Step 5
Designate a special eating area where your cat can enjoy their meals. Establish a spot where they can feel relaxed and secure, so they can enjoy the great variety, nutrition and taste of FRISKIES. Keep the area clean, and be sure to put out fresh water every day.
